Bodfari
Bodfari is a small village in Denbighshire, Clwyd, North Wales. Nestled at a scenic gap in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is a peaceful spot surrounded by natural beauty and steeped in history. It's a popular overnight stop for walkers on the Offa's Dyke Path and also sits along the route of the Clwydian Way.

[edit]Bodfari has a population of around 327 (2011). Historically part of Flintshire, it now lies within Denbighshire following administrative changes in 1974. The village sits in the valley of the River Wheeler (Afon Chwiler) and is known for its parish church and association with early Welsh saints. The area is a haven for walkers, with two significant long-distance trails passing directly through the village.
Get in
[edit]The village is on the A541 road between Denbigh and Mold. The nearest railway stations are in Rhyl or Prestatyn, both approximately 15 mi (24 km) away. Public transport is limited, with infrequent bus services to nearby towns, so most visitors arrive by car or on foot via one of the long-distance walking trails.
Get around
[edit]Bodfari is small and easily explored on foot. Walkers continuing along the Offa's Dyke Path or the Clwydian Way can access trailheads directly from the village.

Do
[edit]- Clwydian Way. A 122-mile (196-km) circular long-distance trail through the Clwydian Range, passing through Bodfari. It offers superb views of the surrounding hills and peaceful countryside.
- Offa's Dyke Path. This 177-mile (285-km) national trail tracing the historic border between England and Wales passes through Bodfari. For many walkers undertaking the route from south to north, Bodfari is the final overnight stop before the finishing point in Prestatyn.

[edit]Bodfari is a very safe village. The main safety consideration is for those hiking in the Clwydian Range. Always be prepared with a map, compass, waterproof clothing, and sufficient food and water, as the weather in the hills can be unpredictable and change quickly.
