Îles d'Hyères

Iles d'Hyeres (Hyeres archipelago), often referred to as Îles d'Or (golden islands), are four islands in the Var territory in south-eastern France. This group of islands is off the coast from Hyères.

Islands[edit]

Map of the region
  • Porquerolles — the largest of the islands is an extension of the Giens peninsula
  • Port-Cros — the most mountainous of the islands is part of Port-Cros National Park, and is known for rare flora and as a bird refuge
  • Île du Levant — the second largest island is mostly reserved for military use, partly a long-established naturist community centered on the privately owned village of Héliopolis
  • Île du Bagaud — a tiny island is part of the national park, but no access is permitted

This region travel guide to Îles d'Hyères is an outline and may need more content. It has a template, but there is not enough information present. If there are Cities and Other destinations listed, they may not all be at usable status or there may not be a valid regional structure and a "Get in" section describing all of the typical ways to get here.
