English: When we met Santali Wikipedian R. Ashwani Banjan Murmu in March 2017, his hope was to gather more Wikimedians and take the Santali Wikipedia out fo the Wikimedia Incubator. On August 7, 2018, Santali Wikipedia finally went live, and is available at https://sat.wikipedia.org. Santali is spoken by about 7 million people across India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan, and is one of the 22 Indian languages which are part of the 8th Schedule of the Constitution of India.

Recorded on the March 18, 2018 during a Wikipedia editing workshop organized by the Santali Wikipedia community at the North Odisha University, Baripada, Mayurbhanj, Odisha. Nearly 40 students from the University and M.P.C Autonomous College, both located in Baripada, participated in the workshop and contributed to the Santali Wikipedia Incubator.
