The southern part of Gotland includes towns such as Hemse, Ljugarn and Burgsvik. It a quiet region, with scenic beaches and some of the most famous rauks.

• 57.23718.3741 Hemse with around 1,700 inhabitants is Gotland's largest settlement outside Visby, and the only major retail centre in southern Gotland.
• 57.03218.2772 Burgsvik with around 300 inhabitants is a port village.

Southern Gotland is accessible by car, bus and bike. The flat sceneries make tour cycling a good option during summer.

• 56.939318.30991 Hammarshage hällar and Holmshällars rauk fields (In the southern part of Gotland). Two nearby rauk fields. 
• 56.922518.12922 Hoburgsgubben (on the southernmost tip of Gotland). The rauk is said to resemble a human face in profile from the right angle. 
• 57.218518.52993 Stavgard. A 10th century village ruin where the master house was 60 metres long, and a modern replica of the village.

Retailers are concentrated in Hemse.
